This course is designed for creative photographers who already know the basics of ICM photography and have possibly completed the Elementary course. During the six lessons you can deepen your skills in ICM photography and learn new techniques.
In this workshop there are 6 lessons during which we go through new advanced movements, exposure times beyond 2 seconds, colour blending, photographing a moving subject as well as from a moving vehicle and high key photography. All the lessons are based on in-camera photography.
Each of the 6 lessons has a video that explains the technique and the exercise. You will also receive a PDF download of each exercise. You will receive the next lesson upon completion of the previous one. At the end of the course you can submit 3 ICM photos to the instructors to receive feedback on your images
All students get access to our private Facebook group where you can post your photos and ask questions from the teachers and other students.
Q&A
What kind of camera do I need? What else do I need?
You can use any camera in which you can adjust shutter speed, aperture and ISO.
You also need some photo editing software to tidy up your images. For example Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom or Affinity Photo.
Can I use a smartphone camera? Which apps can I use?
Yes you can. If you have an iPhone, try apps like SlowShutterCam or SlowShutter. And if you have an Android, try Camera FV-5 App.
Can I do this course if I have absolutely no experience with ICM Photography?
This course is not for complete beginners. If you have no experience, we recommend taking the Elementary course first.
You need have an idea how exposure time, focal length, size of the camera movement and speed of the camera movement affect the final image. It would also be good if you have some experience of basic ICM movements, like vertical and horizontal.
How long do I have access to the course?
You get lifetime access.
How long does the course take?
We recommend you go out after each lesson and practice the technique you just learned. The videos are between 6 - 22 minutes long, but then it’s up to you how much time you spend practicing each technique.
